Funding Tokyo

HydroBeetle receives ¥1,000,000 from the TokyoTCP GAP Fund

HydroBeetle is one of 15 projects on the Seed track of TokyoTCP, Tokyo’s programme for deep-⁠tech founders. Its GAP Fund has granted ¥1,000,000, which brings HydroBeetle’s funding to ¥2,300,000.

    HydroBeetle joined a one-⁠week UNIDO field programme in Kenya, built around visits, interviews and listening to the people a product is meant for.

    The programme gave HydroBeetle a place to work, machines to make parts with and ¥300,000. Its fourth prototype was built there.

    The Soil Foundation picked four student projects at the University of Tokyo. HydroBeetle was one. It is HydroBeetle’s first funding, and it comes with three months of mentoring.

    As one of five finalist teams of ACTION 2025, HydroBeetle presented its water backpack at a climate and health session in the China Pavilion.
