Funding Tokyo

HydroBeetle receives ¥1,000,000 from the TokyoTCP GAP Fund

HydroBeetle is one of 15 projects on the Seed track of TokyoTCP, Tokyo’s programme for deep-tech founders. Its GAP Fund has granted ¥1,000,000, which brings HydroBeetle’s funding to ¥2,300,000.

On 1 October 2026, the GAP Fund of the Tokyo Technology Commercialization Program (TokyoTCP) granted HydroBeetle ¥1,000,000. HydroBeetle is one of 15 projects on the programme’s Seed track.

What TokyoTCP is

TokyoTCP is short for Tokyo Technology Commercialization Program. It is an acceleration programme with a GAP fund, organised by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Japan Research Institute. It is for teams preparing to start a company on technology from universities, research institutes and companies in Tokyo, and for young deep-tech startups.

Teams get mentoring, group training, pitch contests and introductions to government grants, investors and companies. The 2026 round took applications from 27 February to 10 May 2026. Its training and mentoring run from June 2026 to March 2028.

How HydroBeetle is listed

The programme’s public list of selected projects names 15 on the Seed track, from universities and young companies. HydroBeetle is one of them.
